That Medium Of Lightweight Propagation: The Luminiferous Ether -- Not

As scientists started to unravel the techniques of light, its properties and its movement, they compared it about what they knew: waves propagating through a medium. Water waves over the ocean; sound waves over the air; Rossby waves with the jet stream. And so the luminiferous ether ended up being postulated.
